The Kentucky Opera, in celebration of renowned composer Giuseppe Verdi's 200th birthday, will perform the musically stunning yet rarely produced opera SIMON BOCCANEGRA in continuation of their THE BROWN-FORMAN 2013/14 SEASON. This unique operatic event will take place at the Brown Theatre on Friday, November 15th at 8pm and Sunday, November 17th at 2pm.
An opera with prologue and three acts, SIMON BOCCANEGRA will be sung in Italian, with translations above the stage. While this is one of Verdi's least famous operas, it is widely considered to have the most beautiful music he has ever written.
