A trio of talented sopranos, Virginia Zeani, 89, plus Marilyn Mims and daughter, Virginia Mims, 18, will perform in a free concert at 2 p .m. Jan. 25 at Helen K. Persson Recital Hall, 326 Acacia Road, on the Palm Beach Atlantic University campus. Zeani was the mentor of Marilyn Mims when she was a music student in Indiana. "I wanted to sing Violetta from Verdi's La Traviata, and I knew I could if I studied with Zeani," Mims said.
The concert is being hosted by Il Circolo, the Italian Cultural Society of the Palm Beaches. Donations to the scholarship fund will be accepted at the door.
