As has been the case since Chris Beard was hired back in 2016, the Texas Tech men’s basketball staff continues to be aggressive on the recruiting trail throughout the year. Davide Moretti, an experienced, high-level guard from Bologna, Italy, visited the Red Raiders over the weekend as part of a four-school, 11-day trek to the United States. The 19-year-old guard was seen taking in a NCAA Lubbock Regional final baseball game between Texas Tech and Sam Houston State on Sunday.
Moretti’s travel plans include visiting Indiana, UConn, Texas Tech and concluded with Utah on June 8, according to Scout.com’s Evan Daniels. The 6-foot-3 inch point guard has represented Italy as part of Under-18 FIBA and the Under-20 European Championships. He’s currently playing for the Italian team Universo De’Longhi Treviso.
