UTSA has announced that top Italian point guard prospect Giovanni De Nicolao has become the fourth signee in the school's 2016 recruiting class. De Nicolao is a 6-foot-3 point guard from Camposampiero, Italy who was named to the Italian Junior National Team in April and aided the squad as it prepared to compete at the European Junior Championship in July. He attended I.I.S.I. Newton School.
He averaged 8.3 points, 5.8 rebounds. 3.5 steals and 2.5 assists per game while playing with Vicenza Basketball 2012 during the 2014-15 season, leading to his promotion to Serie B. De Nicolao also took part in the Nike International Junior Tournament. "Giovanni is a very talented guard," Henson said. "He's very good with the ball in his hands, can create for others and can score the basketball. Giovanni will be another versatile guy that will help us in many different ways and we're excited to have him join our Roadrunners family."
