Tickets are on sale now for "A Passion for Beauty: Cinema Italian Style," a new film series at the Seattle Art Museum. The series kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 8 with "Ossessione/Obsession," Luchino Visconti's 1942 take on "The Postman Always Rings Twice." The series plays select Thursdays through March 19, when it closes with "The Great Beauty," Paulo Sorrentino's 2013 Oscar-winning tale of modern Rome.
All films are in Italian, with English subtitles. 1300 First Ave., Seattle. Series tickets are $63 for SAM, SIFF, NWFF, Seattle Film Institute and TheFilmSchool members, $68 general admission (206-654-3210 or www.visitsam.org).
