"Magnifico! Cinema Italian Style," a new series featuring Italian filmmakers, begins Thursday, Jan. 7, with "Il Grido/The Cry," Michelangelo Antonioni's 1957 drama about a sugar-refinery worker (Steve Cochran) who is rejected by his lover (Alida Valli). The series continues with "L'Avventura" (Jan. 14), "I Fidanzati/The Fiances" (Jan. 21), "The Witches" (Jan. 28), "Fellini's Roma" (Feb. 4), "Sandra/Of a Thousand Delights" (Feb. 18), "For a Few Dollars More" (1966), "The Arabian Nights" (March 10) and "Il Divo" (March 17).
