Former Nevada baseball player Miles Mastrobuoni was acquired by the Seattle Mariners from the Chicago Cubs for cash considerations Tuesday. Mastrobuoni had been designated for assignment by the Cubs last week. Mastrobuoni joins Seattle's 40-man roster, taking the place of catcher Nick Raposo, who was designated for assignment by the Mariners.
Mastrobuoni has one option year remaining, meaning he could be shuffled between the MLB and Triple-A levels this season. The 29-year-old Mastrobuoni has appeared in three major-league seasons between his time with the Tampa Bay Rays (2022) and Chicago Cubs (2023–24). This is his third MLB franchise.
