
The Salem Philharmonic Orchestra will begin its 2016 season a performance from soprano Carla Maniscalco-Giovinco and the Salem High School Orchestra at 3 p.m. Jan. 10 at Salem High School, 77 Wilson St. Maniscalco-Giovinco will perform a selection of opera arias by Puccini, Massenet and others.
Maniscalco-Giovinco, an Italian-American soprano, performs a diverse array of repertoire throughout the Greater Boston area. Her performance credits include "The Pirates of Penzance," "Le Nozze di Figaro," "The Medium," "Carmen," "Suor Angelica," "Lucia di Lammermoor," "Dido and Aeneas," "Cosi Fan Tutte," "Die Zauberflöte," "Don Giovanni" and "Dialogues of the Carmelites."
