Last month we introduced you the Italian company Kefa and their project to produce the first watch in the world that bears the emblem of the Vatican City State and the personal coat of arms of Pope Francis on the dial and back, respectively.

When we met the founders of this company Gianluigi Di Lorenzo and Carmelo Caruso, we were impressed, even before the product, by their stories and how an idea was born almost by chance, over a good coffee in the Eternal City, has incredibly become a reality that in recent years has toured the world, bringing so many people closer, passionate and involved. 

In fact, we are among those! And we believe that this story is a collection of emotions, passion, tenacity, ideas: in short, a concentrate of our much-loved ITALIANITY that is worth sharing with you.

We have therefore decided to accompany you on this whirlwind journey by having you relive the most salient anecdotes and passages that at the end of the story will be the indissoluble kit and the added value of the 'Petrus watch - a unique watch of its kind. 

When telling a story it is easy to interview, and let the protagonists of the story speak … but in this case we have imagined that the presenter in this fantastic story is precisely its protagonist: the PETRUS Clock! I’ll leave him the floor.

Dearest Reader of We the Italians… It is a great pleasure to make your acquaintance, if you are reading me it probably means that we share values and principles of great importance.

In the past I have been given many names: Sundial, Hourglass, Watch... but today, here before you I am Petrus, the first watch of the Kefa watchmaking brand. Besides being an elegant accessory with a Swiss heart, characterized by a simple and modern style typical of Made in Italy, I am a symbol. 

But let's come to us and the time we will spend together. For my part, I can make you a promise: I will be faithful to you, I will always stay with you, banding your wrist with a leather strap strictly Made in Italy, created by expert craftsmen from the Marche region.

You can choose to wear me all the time, on your wrist, to share with many others what you believe in and what you are passionate about, or you can opt to wear me only on select and exclusive occasions.

I was created with two complementary intentions: to unite a wide and varied group of people united by precise values, but at the same time to become a means of communication and recognition among those who are part of an exclusive club. 

Indeed, if you have come this far in my presence, I would say that I can tell you about a detail that has not yet been revealed to you: the Kefa Club. An opportunity to participate in many events held in exclusive settings and enjoy all the benefits reserved for members.

The Kefa Club accepts only 2013 members, those who will have the privilege of wearing the timeless emblems. That's because I pride myself on being a limited edition watch: only 2013 pieces, a number that harks back to the year a white smoke invested Pope Francis with his office.

For this purpose, each Petrus owner will be provided with a personal digital code, so that he or she can become the sole creator of the history of HIS or HER Petrus.

Here, then, is what together, we could accomplish: we will plot a new story of our own alone that will be indelibly etched in the folds of Time.

Now I must leave you, for as they say, he who has time waits for no time. I am sure we will meet again, and when we do, I will appear to you in an elegant casket of fine wood, created by expert Italian artisans, and then you can finally check out some of my technical features that I am sure you will appreciate.
