Aug 30, 2020 1024

Dream Big Dream Small is Elissa Ruffino’s first children’s book.  A longtime public relations and communications specialist in Washington, DC, Ruffino currently is an adjunct faculty member at Marymount University School of Business and Technology and the Lutheran College Washington Semester program.

The book for children ages 3 to 10 is published through Politics & Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC.  Dario Cali’, an artist who lives in Rome, Italy, illustrated the book. Now more than ever is the time for everyone to dream BIG.  Our dreams are treasures in our hearts that we must keep alive especially during this pandemic,” Ruffino explained.

Dream Big Dream Small is the story of Evangeline, a little girl whose fervent dream eventually comes true, but not without setbacks. Adults can learn from this book by listening carefully as they hear their children express their own dreams.  You never know what is going to light a spark,” writes Richard Benedetto, retired USA TODAY White House Correspondent and professor at American University, in the book’s introduction.

Ruffino decided to dedicate and write this book to honor the Honorable Frank J. Guarini, former United States Congressman (NJ), who inspires her to dream big every day.  Dream Big Dream Small highlights the importance of hopes and dreams no matter how big or small through an endearing and inspiring story about a young girl living in New York.

Book proceeds will benefit John Cabot University in Rome, where Ruffino has taught brand management for three consecutive summers.

Books can be purchased through Politics and Prose in hardcover or soft back.
