Dionisio Cimarelli is considered to be the greatest Italian sculptor to have lived and worked in China, and his long residence there, combined with his blending of Chinese and Italian styles, have led to comparisons with Marco Polo.
The New York Academy has described him as someone who "has the ability to make a difference in the art world." His works have been requested for exhibitions in Shanghai, Berlin, Oslo, Potsdam, and many other places. Mr Cimarelli is not only a sculptor; he is also a restorer in the highest European tradition. In this capacity he has done work all over the world. He is also a teacher who has lectured extensively and taught numerous courses in different countries.
