A.P. Giannini, founder of Bank of America, was born on May 6, 1870 in San Jose. On May 6 2020, the San Francisco City Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution “recognizing A. P. Giannini on the occasion of his 150th birthday for his substantial contributions to San Francisco history, Italian American culture, and declaring May 6 as A. P. Giannini Day in the City and County of San Francisco.”
The resolution was sponsored by District 2 Supervisor Catherine Stefani and District 3 Supervisor Aaron Peskin, and it was adopted by a unanimous vote. The Museo also thanks all the people who voiced their support for the resolution by phone and email during the May 5 Supervisors meeting.
