"In America si vive il teatro come se fosse il cinema, uno spettacolo cui la gente assiste principalmente per divertirsi". È la prima volta che Roberto Tagliavini - basso originario di Parma - si esibisce negli Stati Uniti, eppure sembra aver già colto la profonda essenza e la vivacità spensierata del pubblico locale.
Sono ancora accese le luci in sala e, tra il brusio e la concitazione della ricerca dei posti a sedere, si fanno strada due signore che allegramente conversano dell'opera che sta per cominciare: "Tu sai di cosa parla?" - "Ma sì...intrighi, matrimoni, tradimenti o qualcosa del genere".
