Cari Amici, it's time to show your Italian pride by being a part of our Italian entry ! Saturday, March 25th is the 63rd Annual Swallow's Day Parade. We have represented bella Italia since 2007 in this parade and will once again walk proudly carrying the 20 regional flags of Italy, singing Italian songs and waving to the 30,000 people along the parade route.
Please come dressed in Italian colors, green, white & red, blue for Italian soccer or dressed for Carnivale. If you have children, bring them in a stroller or wagon decorated with flags or ribbons. More details are below on where to meet, what time, how to sign in plus links to parking, shuttles and the parade route.
WHERE TO MEET
Please come to San Juan Elementary School where we will meet at 9:30am. You need to sign the liability release form and if you want to carry a regional flag, this would be the time to select your flag. You are then free to walk around town to enjoy breakfast or see all of the other entries preparing for the parade. You must be back to line up no later that 10:45am. San Juan Elementary School is located at 31642 El Camino Real, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. You can see a larger/clearer map here.
Come by car or even train. Once in San Juan Capistrano you can take the convenient Shuttle Bus or arrive early as most street closures are in effect by 10AM. This is a fun family event celebrating the annual return of the swallows. Parade starts promptly at 11AM. For shuttle and train info go here.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at vcarabini@gmail.com
Hope to see you all on parade day!
