62nd Annual Swallow's Day Parade, Saturday, March 12. Back after a two year hiatus, the Swallow's Day Parade will once again be weaving its way through the beautiful streets of San Juan Capistrano. Join us as we march with Italian pride in our Italian entry which has won many awards and continues to be an exciting addition to the parade.
Be a part of our lively group of Italian Americans as we carry with pride the 20 regional flags of Italy, toss a pizza and sing Italian songs. Wear Italian colors, dress in traditional Italian clothes or Carnivale costumes. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at vcarabini@gmail.com.
Where to meet;
We are meeting at San Juan Elementary School (31642 El Camino Real, San Juan Capistrano). Each participant in our entry needs to sign in by 10:00 am but we will be ready to sign you in as early as 9:30am. The parade starts promptly at 11:00am. We are in Division 1 which means we are at the start of the parade and will start lining up at 10:30am!
The Mercado Street Faire
Once you have signed in you are free to walk around town and visit the Mercado - BUT BE BACK BY 10:30 AM (http://www.swallowsparade.com/portfolio/the-mercado/). The Mercado Street Faire is a fun event just off the main Parade route where the whole family can go to eat, dance, play, and shop. It is THE place to be before and after the parade! Listen and dance to the music of a traditional country music. Grab a bite to eat and enjoy the music! There is family entertainment and a kid’s play zone all located in the Historic Town Center Park.
