A week later, Dalia Vidor has finally come up for air. If only momentarily. The co-producer of the inaugural Carnivale Fantastico Italian Renaissance and Cultural Festival at Blue Rock Springs Park last weekend is basking in the post-event glow, thrilled that 4,000 visitors came through the gates and all forms of possible tragedy were averted.
"It went amazingly smooth," Vidor said. "It must be some sort of anomaly. We did not get a single complaint. There were no accidents. Nobody passed out. No mural fell on anybody." Vidor said much of the planning success falls on her colleague, Molly Drew, with her years of experience plotting renaissance fairs.
