Last month, Mayor Lee honored the Italian community with his presence at the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club and publicly stated his commitment to help bolster support for Italian language education in the Bay.

In the face of a recent decline in Californian schools offering Italian as a choice in their World Language Curricula, we are especially grateful for Mayor Ed Lee's support and look forward to working with the city to reinvigorate Italian language engagement in the schools.
