Music lovers will be pleased to attend the North State Symphony's second concert of its season, which showcases music from Italy. The symphony returns to the Laxson Auditorium big stage, 2 p.m., Nov. 13 and 7:30 p.m., Nov. 12 at the Cascade Theatre.

North State Symphony Maestro Scott Seaton has selected a musical potpourri of composers who were influenced by Italian culture, landscape and sounds. Featured guest artist John Hagstrom is a virtuoso trumpet soloist. He has been a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's trumpet section since 1996. A native Chicagoan, Hagstrom is passionate in his support of music education.
