We petition to have the statue of Christopher Columbus located in the lobby of San Jose City Hall to remain in its present location.
The statue of Christopher Columbus was given to the City of San Jose in 1958 by the Civic Club. This beautiful marble statue depicts a brave explorer who found a new route to the Americas. Christopher Columbus used the technology and scientific advancements of his age to forge a new path and discover a world yet unknown to others. We demand that the statue of Christopher Columbus stay in its present location.
