After a year off, the revered but struggling Italian Street Painting Festival Marin has been canceled again because the foundation formed to revive it is suspending operations. Emil Kakkis, president and founder of the Bay Area Creative Foundation, announced this week that the San Rafael nonprofit will be put on hold as of March 6.
The comeback event for the festival had been planned for June 6 and 7.“The challenge has always been that the festival was losing money,” Kakkis said. “The demand on our team was too great this year and it made it impossible to sustain.”
