A jubilant air swept through the main church of St. Frances X. Cabrini as the parish celebrated its 70th anniversary at a special Mass on Nov. 4. “It’s a beautiful and glorious day,” said Deacon Peter Bond, who has been associated with the church for about 25 years. “We were here when the (newest building) was a patch of dirt. It’s a wonderful day.”
Following the previous day’s festivities at St. Frances which commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Diocese of San Bernardino, the ceremony was attended by Most Rev. Bishop Gerald Barnes of the Diocese of San Bernardino. In his bilingual sermon, Bishop Barnes congratulated the parish for its longevity.
