Colombo Bank has announced it will merge with FVC Bankcorp. Headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, Colombo serves four locations, including the branch on Albemarle Street in Little Italy. First known as Apicella Bank, it opened in summer of 1914 in Little Italy.
Advocating the banking needs of the neighborhood and community, the bank was, and continues to be, the foundation for which Colombo has been built. Through a desire to grow and focus on its community roots, the bank grew from the small branch office in the neighborhood by adding four locations in Rockville, Bethesda, Silver Spring and the Shaw neighborhood in D.C.
