If you serve it, they will come. The St. Anthony Society of St. Leo's hosted the annual Christmas Dinner for the Homeless December 16th as once again a swarm of cheerful volunteers served a hall full of clients.
Each guest received a goody bag upon exiting, containing tube socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, and two winter accessories such as a hat, scarf, or gloves. Those with children also received hats and gloves for their kids.
The Society would like to thank all of the server volunteers, including three students from Loyola Blakefield High School, Knights of Columbus St. Pallotti Council, and the Promotion Center for Little Italy which donated 600 winter accessories. The dental items, woolen hats and tube socks were donated by the St. Anthony Society. Over 225 people were served 414 meals, as guests were allowed to eat as much as they want.
