Last night the Ambassador of Italy to the United States, Mariangela Zappia, was the guest of honor of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), one of the most prominent Italian-American organizations in the country, and the Italian American Congressional Delegation (IACD), which brings together many members of the U.S. Congress.
The event was hosted by the Government Affairs Committee of NIAF co-chaired by the Hon. Anita Bevacqua McBride, former assistant to President George W. Bush and Chief of Staff to First Lady Laura Bush, and John Calvelli, Executive Vice President of Public Affairs for the Wildlife Conservation Society, and attended by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Hon. Nancy Pelosi.
