The Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA), the oldest and largest national organization for men and women of Italian heritage, elected Anthony J. Baratta of Illinois by acclamation to serve as national president, during its 53rd Biennial National Convention in Philadelphia, August 11-18, 2013.

Mr. Baratta was sworn in as OSIA's 34th National President on August 17. He is a retired sergeant with the Cook County Sheriff's Office and served as president of the Commission for Social Justice (CSJ) from 2007- 2009. He previously served OSIA as national first vice president for four years beginning in 2009.
