SUDESTIVAL 2013 is a Film Festival born in the South of Italy, in the Puglia region, in 2000. It represents the best of Italian independent cinema, offering premieres by young filmmakers who, thanks to this first exposure, have subsequently gained national and international recognition.

SUDESTIVAL in DC brings to the USA films that participated in the 2013 SUDESTIVAL competition just this past March. It offers six feature films and three shorts, which will reveal to the American audience aspects of the most contemporary Italian reality through the lens of a talented new generation of filmmakers.

Following this first edition, SUDESTIVAL in DC will become an annual event on the Washington, DC cultural scene.

SUDESTIVAL in DC "FREE" opening night will take place at the Embassy of Italy on MON. MAY 20, 2013 @ 7:00 pm see our EVENTS Calendar >>> "CLICK HERE" with the participation of guests from Italy, among them two filmmakers. The evening will include a screening of the film trailers and three shorts . The festival screenings will then continue at the WEST END CINEMA in DC, May 21 thru May 23, 2013.
