On October 18 an award ceremony was held at the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC to honor the winners of a video contest organized by the Embassy on the occasion of the 17th week of the Italian Language in the world.
Minister Catherine Flumiani announced the two winning videos: “Tiramisù” for the Rose L. Hardy Middle School in Washington, DC and “Italian Contest” for Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, MD. These were selected by the jury composed of Emanuele Amendola , Director of the Italian Institute of Culture, Giulia Prati, Head of Cultural Affairs and Maria Fusco, Scholastic Office Director. Minister Flumiani presented plaques of appreciation to Professor Chiara Monticelli of the Rose L.Hardy Middle School and to Professor Maria Grazia Cavallini of the Walter Johnson High School for their schools’ efforts in the promotion of the Italian language.
