March 7 @ 4:30 pm-6:00 pm EST. Virtual webinar. This presentation is free to the public. Event presentation by Erika Caturegli. Registration is required, here. Organizer: Dante Alighieri Society of Michigan. As March is internationally recognized as a month to remember and celebrate women’s rights, this Caffè Cultura will focus on an important artistic figure of the Italian 1600’s: Artemisia Gentileschi.
Talented artist, she was one of the few women in history that had the possibility of formally studying art. Artemisia is important not only for her artistic endeavors in a world that was dominated and shaped by men but also for her determination and charisma in making her voice heard.
