Join Emerson Bowyer, Searle Curator, Painting and Sculpture of Europe, for an after-hours look at Canova: Sketching in Clay, the first exhibition to focus on Italian sculptor Antonio Canova’s lesser-known but unforgettable work in clay. The show reveals how the most famous 18th-century sculptor developed his ideas—from the first brilliant spark of imagination to the laboriously finished statues.
Open exclusively to Luminary members, this event requires advance registration and is limited to 40 participants. Please note that this event occurs when the museum is closed to the public. Registered guests will be provided entry instructions in advance of the program.
