The Italian American Festival Foundation of Stark County announced it will award $8,000 in college scholarships this year. To be eligible for the scholarship funding, applicants must be of Italian-American heritage and a 2015 graduate of a Stark County high school. Scholarships are awarded based on need, scholastic ability, extra-curricular involvement and character.
Scholarship winners will be announced July 10 during the awards banquet of the Italian American Festival, slated for July 9-11. To obtain an application, submit a request in writing to: Italian American Festival Foundation, PO Box 9345, Canton, OH 44711-9345. Attn: Louie Mattachione, chairman, scholarship committee.
