Thousands of spectators and parade marchers filled Cleveland's Little Italy neighborhood Monday, as the 118th Feast of the Assumption parade wound its way through the neighborhood. The annual parade began after Mass outside the Holy Rosary Church on Mayfield Road. And it moved through the streets of the old Italian neighborhood on Cleveland's east side.
A statue of the Virgin Mary passed through the crowd; spectators made donations to the church and the money was pinned to the statue. The annual celebration, which began Friday, Aug. 11, also includes a carnival and lots of local restaurants selling their best treats.
