Today we honor two Italian-American heroes that lost their lives in a fire last night. Larry Leggio and John Mesh were both veteran firefighters with the KCFD. First responders put their lives on the line every day to save lives. They do it selflessly no matter the circumstance. To the families of Larry & John please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will honor Larry & John every year during October for Italian-American heritage month so, their sacrifice is never forgotten!!
The city of Kansas City has set up a memorial fund to support Larry & John's families. Donations can be made by check, payable to IAFF Local 42 and mailed to 6320 Manchester Ave., Suite 42A; Kansas City, MO 64133.
