Join us on August 19th as we celebrate the Leonardo' Codex Leicester Exhibit at MIA. The Cocktail Reception, to be held at the historic Clifton House, is the last of our summer events paying homage to Leonardo's genius. For the occasion, the Italian Consul in Chicago, Adriano Monti, will make his first official visit to the Twin Cities and the Italian Cultural Center.
In addition, we welcome a number of Leonardo experts: JB Shank, Director of the Center for Early Modern History at the University of Minnesota; Alex Bortolot, Curator of the Codex Leicester Exhibit and content strategist at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts; and Mark Balma, renowned artist and expert on Italian master painters' techniques will all share their thoughts and expertise on Leonardo's legacy as an artist, inventor and scientist.
Participants will enjoy delicious Italian hors d'oeuvres and desserts accompanied by Prosecco sparkling wine. Antinori Wines will sponsor a wine tasting featuring a selection of high quality Italian wines.
The renovated 300 Clifton House is a fitting location to host this reception for its elegance and historic ties to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
