Shame on protesters

LOUD, RUDE protesters again brought shame to themselves Monday by attempting, unsuccessfully, to disrupt Pueblo's annual Columbus Day celebration. The contrast was stark. The celebrants — Italian Americans and their friends of mixed ethnicity — were tolerant and respectful of the protesters. The protesters were totally intolerant and disrespectful.

The protesters exercised their right to freedom of speech, all right, but tried to trample on the same constitutional rights of those who were assembled to honor Italian Christopher Columbus for making a 1492 discovery that led to an influx of European exploration of the Americas.
