Pueblo County Transportation Director Greg Severance's fondness for using gangster terms for labeling city trash companies "mafia haulers" in his emails to City Council members didn't amuse the local Order of the Sons of Italy.
In an Aug. 6 letter to Severance's employers, the Pueblo County commissioners, the Italian fraternal group specifically pointed to emails by Severance that referred to C&C Disposal owner Frank Cortese as "the godfather" and haulers as a "street gang." John Obrin, president of Lodge 2738, said such terms were offensive, inappropriate and racist.
