Saint Anthony’s Society is excited to announce the schedule of events for the 2017 Feast Weekend. The celebration will mark its 98th year on August 24 – August 27 on Endicott, Thacher and North Margin Streets in the North End. This year festivities begin Thursday evening with the Feast of Santa Lucia and will continue all weekend with the Feast of Saint Anthony on Friday, Saturday & Sunday!

Join us for four days of Italian American music, delicious foods and confections, religious services, cooking demonstrations, olive oil and cheese tastings, live radio and TV broadcasts, and the grand procession of Saint Anthony & Saint Lucy featuring award winning drum and bugle corps & marching bands.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 24

5:00 PM

Opening Ceremonies & Procession of the FEAST OF SANTA LUCIA. Exposition & blessing of the Statue of Santa Lucia and devotees. The Statue of Santa Lucia will then be brought in solemn procession through the streets of the North End accompanied by Italian street bands, flower girls and color guard.

6:00 PM

Dance & sing along to the sounds of Vinyl Groove. Get up and dance while enjoying an old fashioned feast night in the neighborhood!

10:30 PM

A candlelight procession will welcome the statue of Santa Lucia back to outdoor chapel for her overnight vigil.

Filippo Berio Culinary Stage & Tasting Tent - Featuring Boston’s best chefs showcasing their “Cucina Italiana” - stop by for some fabulous demonstrations & tastings of Filippo Berio Olive Oil varieties.
 
Regina Pizzeria Open Air Piazza - Enjoy an imported ice cold Stella Artois Beer or a glass of vino, and of course a slice of their world famous pizza.
 
Dragone Cheese Tasting Tent - Drop by for unique recipe suggestions and enjoy selections of sumptuous fresh mozzarella, ricotta and aged parmesan uniquely prepared for the feast.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 25

Enjoy lunch and the afternoon at the Feast while listening to traditional feast music by the Ray Cavicchio Orchestra on the main stage.

LIVE from the Feast it’s the Mix 104.1 FM Afternoon Drive Team. Drop by and say hello and have some laughs with Gregg Daniels, Fast Freddy & Amanda Giles, join in the fun and win some special prizes, brought to you by

12 NOON – 5:00PM

Join some of the most creative, local chefs demonstrate their talents and entertain you with their culinary delights as New England’s newest and most unique TV Show Wicked Bites takes over the Filippo Berio Culinary Stage. Then watch the crew on Saturday mornings on NESN as they unlock the secrets to great eats from hidden places to the most unique shops.

Members of the societies take the statue Santa Lucia in procession to St. Leonard Peace Garden to greet our Parish priests and accompany them to the feast for opening ceremonies of St. Anthony’s Feast.

OPENING CEREMONIES OF ST. ANTHONY’S FEAST - The exposition and blessing of the statue of Saint Anthony, members, fellow devotees and the streets of the North End.
 
OPENING PARADE - The statue of Saint Anthony is taken in procession to the outdoor chapel followed by a short parade through the streets of the North End with Italian marching bands.

7:15 PM

Must see performances by Italian American pop-jazz artist Vanessa Racci, performing songs from her 2017 release, Italiana Fresca, and from A Bronx Tale and Boardwalk Empire, actor and entertainer Louis Vanaria shares his funny stories and sings the standards. – Main Stage 

SATURDAY, AUGUST 26

12 NOON

Enjoy all your favorite songs from yesterday to today with Ronnie Lewis and the Expedition on the Main Stage.

OUTDOOR CELEBRATION OF THE EUCHARIST

Celebrate a special mass in honor of Saint Anthony, followed by a Blessing with the Relic of Saint Anthony & distribution of Blessed Saint Anthony Bread.

6:30 PM

BENVENUTI PARADE - Join in the fun with members and Italian marching bands in parade as we welcome everyone to the neighborhood.

7:00 PM

Dance the night away to the spectacular performance by Aaron Caruso & Friends. Accompanied by a great band and vocalists, this modern day Mario Lanza will take you on a journey to Italy, Broadway and through the classic American songbook.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 27 
 
10:30 AM

Mass celebrated in Italian in honor of Saint Anthony at Saint Leonard of Port Maurice Church, Hanover Street, North End.* (due to the church restoration project, the Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Italian Church in North Square.)

12 NOON

GRAND PROCESSION OF SAINT ANTHONY

Join us for the start of the ten hour grand procession. The statue of Saint Anthony is carried through the streets of the North End accompanied by Italian street bands, award winning drum & bugle corps, school marching bands, sponsor floats, and color guard.

1:30 PM

Enjoy the afternoon at the Feast while listening to a wonderful musical performance by Ambrosiani on the main stage.
 
7:00 PM

Dance &; sing along to classic Italian American entertainment by Seabreeze featuring Stephen Savio on the main stage.

FEAST GRAND FINALE - Saint Anthony returns to Endicott Street amidst confetti and streamers.
