In an era when so many arts groups are struggling to hang on, the Connecticut Lyric Opera in New London continues its growth, both in its ability to reach broader audiences and to broaden the scope of operas staged in Connecticut.
Last season, the CLO made a splash by performing what is believed to be the first production of a Wagner opera ever in Connecticut, and this season, which arrives in New London with an equally ambitious choice - Strauss's "Der Rosenkavalier" - the CLO moves its productions into a new city, with performances in Hartford.
