The sponsors of the annual Southington Italian-American Festival have selected Community Services and Southington Community Cultural Arts to be the recipients of proceeds from the festival. The festival, sponsored by the Sons of Italy and UNICO, will take place Friday, Saturday, Sunday, July 24, 25 and 26, on Center Street.
UNICO festival coordinator Joe LaPorte noted that the festival has supported many different local charitable organizations over the years, such as Bread for Life, STEPS, Southington YMCA and the SHS Robotics Team. This is the Festival's 11th year of promoting and supporting Italian heritage and culture in the Southington community.
