Old school Italian comic Dom Irrera and new school Italian comic Sebastion Maniscalco will headline four big shows in Connecticut on March 22, 23 & 30, 2013.
Dom Irrera's stand-up material was honed in a multi-generational Italian household. He grew up in South Philadelphia while living with his mother, sister, grandmother, uncles and cousins all under one very big roof. Together, there were three floors and four generations of family. Dom's first big break was his performance on Rodney Dangerfield's "Nothing Goes Right" comedy specials for HBO back in the summer of 1989.
Sebastian Maniscalco brings his witheringly sarcastic and exasperated take on modern behavior and decorum while bridging the gap between the Italian-American Old World he grew up in and the contemporary frenetic world we all live in today. Sebastian caught Award-winning actor and entertainer Vince Vaughn's ears and eyes and selected him to be one of the four featured comedians in the critically acclaimed film Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show that launched him into the national spotlight.
When Dom Irrera takes the stage, he does not simply get on it, he owns it! That's why Comedy Central named him "One of the 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All-Time." With Dom, it seems to be a blend of regular-guy presence and relaxed, effortless delivery and, of course, what he's delivering is topnotch material, laced with an array of colorful characters and voices. Beyond beautifully-crafted jokes and routines, Dom's also giving the audience one-man sketches and bursts of improv and he always returns armed with heaping hunks of new material.
His HBO "One Night Stand" earned him his first CableACE award for Best Stand-Up Comedy Special. Dom won a second CableACE for the Showtime stand-up series he hosted, "Full Frontal Comedy." That same year he received a second CableACE nomination in the writing category for his work on Comedy Central's animated series, "Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist." He also starred in a solo stand-up special for HBO titled "Command Performance." He has performed on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Show with David Letterman,Conan O'Brien," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," "The View," and made several appearances on "Oprah." An avid sports fan, Dom hosted four seasons of Comedy Central's irreverent football show,"Offsides," He also hosts the NFL Networks show "Hang Time" and stars as the judge on Direct TV's Supreme Court of Comedy and his guest-star credits include "Seinfeld" (he played an annoying prop comic needling Jerry in the memorable episode), "Becker," "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "King of Queens." Dom has made more appearances at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival than any other American comic. Ditto the Cat Laughs Festival in Kilkenny, Ireland. Now, let's go new school.
What's Wrong With People? asks Sebastian Maniscalco in his hilarious new hit stand-up special airing on Showtime and available on DVD nationwide on March 27th. Sebastian has also starred in his own Comedy Central Presents Comedy Special as well as on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno where heappeared as the unforgettable style correspondent providing hilarious grooming advice to unsuspecting airline passengers and churchgoers. His other national television appearances include the award-winning series The Savages, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Lopez Tonight, Tim Meadows' The Very Funny Show, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, Showtime's Comics without Boarders, Comics Unleashed, and Hollywood Uncensored.
