Longtime lawyer, former State Sen. Louis Ciccarello to retire

Longtime lawyer and former state Sen. Louis Ciccarello has announced his retirement. Ciccarello, a local lawyer for 53 years, has served in numerous municipal positions in Norwalk and nearby towns over the years. He lived in Norwalk with his partner of 20 years Susan Blazer before the couple sold their house and bought a condo in Trumbull and a second home in Boynton Beach, Florida. Ciccarello said he use his time now to play more tennis. 

Ciccarello was a partner at the Norwalk law firm of Lovejoy & Rimer, P.C. Ciccarello graduated from Stanford University Law School in 1964 and passed the bar in 1965. Ciccarello focused his legal career on municipal law and zoning. In 1969 he was appointed by then-Mayor Frank N. Zullo to the Board of Estimate and Taxation. He was chairman 1971 to 1973. In 1974, Ciccarello, a Democrat, was elected state senator in the 25th District, the seat now held by Bob Duff. At the time it included Norwalk and Saugatuck.
