Marionettes at MIT: technique and technology in 300 years of Marionette theatre

In celebration of the opening of Sleeping Beauty at the Emerson/Paramount Center Theatre, the Italian Consulate, MITaly and ArtsEmerson invite you to engage with Colla Marionette, a centuries old Italian marionette company on Tuesday November 12th at 6:30 pm at MIT.

The company will present the evolution of their design techniques as technology and resources changed over 300 years of history. Beneath the handmade costumes and hair pieces are mechanisms perfected over generations of skilled engineering. Colla Marionette, celebrated around the world for their mastery of marionette construction and performance, will lead this one of a kind lecture and include demonstrations with their famous marionettes.
