Yesterday Assemblyman Andrew Garbarino (R,C, I-Sayville) congratulated this year's recipients of the Italian-American Scholarship, high school seniors Jake Osburn and Sam Sharkey, for their exceptional academic and athletic achievements as well as their outstanding contributions to the Italian American community. The students were chosen from a pool of applicants from across the state of New York.
"It is my honor to congratulate Jake and Sam on winning the Italian American Scholarship. This is an exceptional achievement and I commend their hard work in and out of the classroom" said Garbarino. "The dedication that these two have put forward to earn this award is an accomplishment that will stay with them long after high school."
