Downtown Rochester will be holding its first Italian Festival in over 30 years. This information comes to us from The Little Italy Association, Inc. They say that the "Galbani® Little Italy Festival" will take place at the Downtown Festival Site, which is located on Exchange Boulevard, on August 12 and 13 of this year. They say that the City of Rochester and the National Italian American Foundation are among the 'supporting organizations.'
In the press release from the Little Italy Association, Silvano Orsi -- who is the Little Italy Festival President and Little Italy Association, Inc. CEO -- gave the following statement: "We are absolutely thrilled and very honored to be able to bring this event to downtown Rochester this year. We are going to make it a very special occasion, so that everyone who attends feels the true warmth and friendship of Italy. The City of Rochester's willingness to support cultural events and new cultural projects downtown, like Little Italy and La Marketa is very attractive, and we're very grateful to be a part of that effort to help revitalize downtown."
