A large crowd was already gathered at Festa Italiana, eating their share of rigatoni and cannoli, just an hour into the three-day event Thursday afternoon. Scott Weinaugh, 54, was under the beer tent awaiting the start of the opening ceremony when he spoke with The Era. He said he lives in Allegany, N.Y., but makes sure to visit during Festa every year.
When asked what brings him back, Weinaugh said with conviction, "The food." In particular, he noted the Italian sausage. "I look forward to it all year long," Weinaugh stated. "I used to live in Bradford, but it's the Italian Festival that brings me back year after year."
