It is a well known fact that Italians have for centuries emigrated to many parts of the world, including our own country, but why are so many young Italians even today emigrating from Italy? This goes on as Italy is facing a crisis of Illegal immigration from refugees literally crashing onto Italian shores. Come to Professor Leonini's lecture to find out more about this crisis which is causing all kinds of institutional, political, social, and humane problems.
Professor Louis R. Leonini is a teacher of the Italian language, history, and culture. He has a B.A in European History from St. John's University, an M.A. from Fordam University, and 30 credits toward a PH.D from N.Y University. He has taught on all school levels, and up to last year was teaching Italian Language and Culture courses here at St. John's University. He is a co-founder of the Speaker's Bureau , and has delivered lectures on Italian history and culture in the NY/NJ area.
