The recent passing of one Watertown resident brings to mind the debt we owe to immigrants, who enrich this society with their ingenuity and determination. Dominic A. Doldo died Wednesday at the age of 79. For many years, he owned and operated Doldo Bros. Construction with his brother Richard.
Nicknamed Mego, Mr. Doldo was born in Watertown in 1938. His mother, Josephine Coppola Doldo, and his father, John W. Doldo Sr., both left their native Italy to make a new life here. Like many other Italians, this generation of Doldos struggled to get by. But family members proved industrious and along the way made remarkable contributions.
