Congratulazioni to Jim Romeo, Italian-American of the year for the 2014 St. Liberata Festival! The Romeo family came to Patchogue in the early 1900's. Jim grew up on Waverly Avenue next door to his grandparents with many family members on West Second Street. Jim has wonderful memories of growing up Italian - from the vendors who came down the streets to sell food and household wares to the annual parade and feast of St. Liberata.
