Presentation by Mario Toglia

Mar 14, 2016 1054

March 18 (Friday) 7:30 pm. A native of Brooklyn, and current resident of Nassau County, NY, Mr. Toglia grew up in an Italian-American home. His parents were from Calitri, in the province of Avellino. In researching his family's history and their close-knit, transplanted community, he discovered that the Calitrani immigrants in America had a unique history of their own worth chronicling. His presentation will discuss his book project and the importance of keeping family narratives preserved. Mr. Toglia has edited three books, available after the presentation: They Came By Ship (2007), Preserving Our History (2013), and Celebrating the Heritage (2015). Refreshments will be served.
