Domenick Boccia, a senior at St. Peter's Boys High School, was honored Monday by Assemblymen Michael Cusick (D-Mid-Island) and Matthew Titone (D-North Shore) at the Italian-American Day 50th Anniversary Ceremony in Albany. Each year, the New York Conference of Italian-American Legislators award four scholarships -- two academic and two athletic -- at the annual ceremony.
FYI: The four scholarships in the amount of $3,000 are available to residents of New York State who are current college students or high school seniors entering college. Boccia was awarded because of his extensive experience in track and field. "It is great to see a local Staten Island high school runner being honored with Senator John Marchi Memorial Athletic Scholarship," said Assemblyman Cusick.
