A new prize for Italian art in the United States is born. In fact, the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in New York have announced the first edition of the "Tristate Italian Art Prize" art competition. The Prize aims to to promote and recognize the artistic creativity of the Italian and Italian-American community in the Tristate area, which includes the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Thus, the Prize is aimed at and individuals with Italian citizenship or with Italian ancestry who reside in the Tristate area are eligible to compete. The Prize may be awarded to works of: painting, sculpture, graphic design, photography, digital art, video; design, applied arts, illustration, communication design, information design; or art installations.
Applications, containing the applicant's resume, ID, documentation of the work, portfolio, proof of residency in the area, and proof of Italian origin for applicants who are not Italian citizens, must be received digitally at [email protected] no later than 5 p.m. EST on May 31, 2023.
The Tristate Italian Art Prize will give selected finalists the opportunity to exhibit their works at the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute, as well as other spaces in the Tristate area. Some of the works will be published on the websites of the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute.
The Tristate Italian Art Prize will be awarded in the fall of 2023. The selected artists will be presented to the public during a ceremony in which the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute will officially open the exhibition.
The winner of the Tristate Italian Art First Prize will also be announced at the ceremony. More information and the announcement are available on the Consulate General and IIC websites.
